The end of the evolution of a woman

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 28x22 inch

Story:

The story the painting is about the triadic inner core of a woman, dematerializing at the end of her evolution: the ego, the self and the god in herself, returning to the inception of all things.  Her face and her back are joined on the same plane, symbolizing the final awareness, the moment when she lives her awakening.

Tree of life - Amended

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 48x30 inch

Story:

It's a painting about an old, iconic concept, revitalized through a personal new interpretation.  I named it Tree of life - Amended for precisely that reason.

It tells the story of the depth of life and its power to make the universal contraries coexist.

The trunk is created out of naked bodies of women holding one another with enormous strength, but at the same time tremendous grace, as if they were dancing.

Their stem-arms are holding the branches, full of seeds, the seeds the world is growing from. We can see its veins and muscle tension throughout its height.

The background is a powerful dichotomy of passionate red and profound blue.  The red represents sinful fantasy and love, in contrast to the cool blue that represents unquestionable reason and reality.

The four dark faces are the unknown observers who are from all four winds watching how the life flows through the tree of life. The painting concentrates on a single focal point - my eye, which is watching unobstructed and free, over the entire story…but the eye is also watching you from inside the painting, without blinking for most of you...for now…

The Tear

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 28x22 inch

Story:

The tear is the event that makes our world meaningful. It is a tale about everything that escapes uniformity. It is the statement of a universe that is fully alive. What is shattered to one eye is a bonding of distant shores to the other. The tear is the the path to and the access through other choices, that ones that build you as a real whole. A path to choices you wouldn't have made, had you not felt feeble, alone, or wrong. Thus, you talk about the tear when, through authenticity, you find the reason to explain your yet unfulfilled achievements.

Human enticement.com

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 36x24 inch

Story:

Human enticement.com is a painting about what lures us into being human even before consciously attempting to understand its reality.

It is about the grace of that charm and all that is enticing, hiding from the light of the already-certain, in the shadow of the symbols of this life. Human enticement. com is about the burst of compulsions  we undeniably endure in the depth of our groins. It is about our spirituality grounded in the victory of our flesh.

Conundrum with three graces in the presence of their demon

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 30x30 inch

SORiaN ArT Philosophical Surrealism Oil Painting

Story:

It’s a painting about the presence and the faces of grace caught in the riddle of temptation, like an unresolved voluptuous dance, under the intricate scrutiny of their own demon.

The demon is alive and powerful and it is exerting its gravity far into the world of being, with all its hearts and eyes and flowers and lips.

The demon with its many indistinct faces and eyes with different kinds of lights is keeping them under its watch, from beyond the veil of this world.

Alien symbiosis

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 36x24 inch

Story:

This painting tells the story of a woman trapped in her own symbiotic cradle, enchained by a whole world in love with her.

It is a world in suspension, as the woman is bound to her own duality, torn between being unable to set herself free from her nature and always feeling mostly free when embalmed in the embrace of the one making her safe.

This symbiosis happens in a world fully shaped, with large skies and mountains and lakes, but it is suspended on top of enormous pendulums, forever bound to keep its own momentum.

The dragon of sand

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 40x30 inch

Story:

The painting Dragon of sand tells a story about how the mysterious beauty of the world talks back to us.

It's the dragon carved in the sand by the waves of the sea that was unseen and then seen again a million times over.

The dragon now speaks back to us about this beauty, a consolation to oversized egos, that were once oblivious to its marvelous obviousness.

First and foremost, this painting is about a secret love for the earth and life itself.

Woman dematerializing in entropic universe

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 16x16 inch

Story:

This is a painting telling a story about the poetic unpredictability of the abysmal nature of the woman, and its alignment with the general entropy of the universe.

It is the idea that the universe is simply personalizing itself through this woman-paradigm, taking human form, while constantly losing it away. The woman seems to be the key to the understanding of the disorderly universe we live in.

However, our ignorance is really the true limit of our understanding of both.

The Supra-Man exhorting his cohort into the new cosmic era

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 48x24 inch

SORiaN ArT Philosophical Surrealism Oil Painting

Story:

This painting depicts, as the title itself states, the Supra-Man exhorting his cohort into the new cosmic era.

The nietzschean Ãœbermensch is representing the total change of view and the rewriting of old principles, believes and expectations of the old world into a new stream of values, more fluid, vivid, functional, articulated and purposeful. Gathering the human beings around more sincere, unprejudiced and courageous ways to communicate, coexist and create.

A group of twelve new symbolic apostles are pushing the wheel of wisdom through a gate made of women bodies (representing the desire for more femininity in the world) into the new tree of life. This is also a allegorical penetration, which will result into the new kind of man.

This is happening while, in the same time, in the upper left side of the painting, the last saints and the last  unadaptable human beings of the old era are escaping into the nothingness of their former empty ideals by climbing up the paradigmatic Jacob's Ladder, to their dead god. Changing the focus when looking at the Jacob's Ladder, you can see the profile of the painter, my profile, overseeing this grandiose event, that heals our fall into history, by transcending it.

Butterfly-snakes are flying over the entire scene of this transitional world, carrying on their wings the new freedoms and also the new dangers of pursuing the human fears without facing and assuming them. This painting talks about the necessity of rising up the human condition to a much higher level in order to achieve its grand cosmic destiny.

The new era of Aquarius is the platform for the humanity's next great jump to an identify beyond our present frivolous social and historical conditioning, an identity governed by a new set of values, that would serve better our freedom, progress and happiness.

Unknown Man crucified

SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2014

Size: 28x22 inch

Story:

This painting is telling the story of an unknown man crucified; no particular date, name or reason mentioned. It could have been a long time ago, probably was..and the man..anyone between a saint and a sinner, although that particular distinction actually depends on the prism through which we glimpse at the values and the historical contextuality.

And the fact of a human being crucified is depicted in contrasting black and yellow-gold, with a shade of transparent crimson red in certain areas. The symbolism behind the crucifixion scene is complex and has more to do with the idea of torture than with the idea of sacrifice and love.

Torture, no matter what this punishment tool was used for (as a method of empowering the authority and proclaiming the rule of obedience through fear or as a ritualistic method of proving one's faith), automatically invalidates any goal understandable and obtainable through its practice and symbolism.

Torture, crime, inflicting sufferance shouldn't tell any story, because they must not make history – that is why the man remains unknown. We cannot accept the sanctification of a means of torture, even if this would be on behalf of the whole love and innocence in the world.

We should rise above this kind of representations in order to drive ourselves towards a better human being.
